Confederations Cup Final: How business magnate Leonardo Farkas could help Chile beat Germany

Copa America holders Chile will lock horns against world champions Germany in the final of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup on Sunday evening in Russia.

Ahead of the big clash, the Chilean fans received a major boost when Leonardo Farkas, a Chilean business tycoon and philanthropist, despatched 5000 national flags to Russia. He has asked the fans in Russia to assemble outside the team's hotel to collect the flags and cheer for La Roja(The Reds) at the Krestovsky Stadium in St. Petersburg. "Let's give our players a boost. Please, only one flag per person." Farkas wrote on his Facebook page.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time the 50-year old businessman has splashed in cash to support the Chilean national team. In 2015, he sent out 40,000 flags for the fans watching the Copa America final in Santiago. His efforts did not go in vain as Chile beat Argentina in a penalty shoot-out and became South American champions for the first time since 1991.
