Popular T20 venture Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has signed popular Pakistan fast bowler and hero of their recent Champions Trophy triumph Hasan Ali. There is huge pressure on Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers Association to strike an agreement, with Australian players selected for next month’s tour of Bangladesh voting to abandon the tour in the ­absence of a new pay deal and federal Sports Minister Greg Hunt intervening in the dispute. Australia captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner met with ACA chief executive Alastair Nicholson in an undisclosed meeting to consider their options after a breakdown in the talks with CA last week. The dispute has now entered nearly its fourth week with the players going out of contract – and officially unemployed – since June 30. The squad did agree to undergo a training camp in Darwin on August 10 after a vote but will not leave for Bangladesh a week later unless an agreement is reached, the report went on to add. The first Test, in the two Test series, begins 10 days later.

Alexis Sanchez yearning to play in the UEFA Champions League next season will depart from Arsenal F.C. by the end of this month with Clubs offering him good pay . India have risen by four spots after their impressive performance during the international break in June when they notched up a 2-0 friendly win over Nepal and a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers group match. In the latest Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) Rankings update, they are ranked 96th which makes them placed 12th in AFC. India currently have 341 rating points, an increase of 10 from their previous tally. India also profited from Namibia who plummeted an astonishing 62 spots from 94 to be ranked 156. The race for the Indian coach is getting hotter. BCCI's Cricket advisory committee comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will hold the interview for the Indian coach on July 10 in  Mumbai. According to Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri among all the other applicants has the best chance to make the cut. "There's (Virender) Sehwag, (Tom) Moody who has done a wonderful job with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (in the Indian Premier League)... yes there are candidates who are around but Ravi has the experience. Ravi has been with the team before, he seems comfortable with the team," Gavaskar said. "I would imagine the CAC would go back to a person the team feels comfortable with and give him the job," the former India captain added.

BCCI extended Rahul Dravid's term as the India Under 19 and India A Coach for two years. However, Dravid had to resign from his role of  Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils' mentor due to 'Conflict Of Interest' . It has also been decided to offer coaches 12-month contracts instead of the 10-month deals that enabled them to work in the IPL. Dravid's revised salary would be 5 crores . Earlier he earned 2.62 crores for his 10 month stint as the Under 19 coach. Dravid's next assignment would be a trip to South Africa where the India A team would participate in a triangular series with the hosts and Australia.
