Heartfelt open letter from a Rooney fan depicts the current state of most Red Devils

As news broke of Wayne Rooney rejoining his boyhood club Everton, fans across the world went into a tizzy and there was an overflow of mixed emotions. We bring to you one such fan's heartfelt message to his idol which clearly depicts the current state of most Red Devils. Read this fan's open letter.

Dear Wayne Rooney,

Congratulations on a remarkable career at The Theatre of Dreams. Congratulations on becoming the highest goal scorer for club (ManUtd) and country (England).

Though I can't quite remember when I started following football, but it was somewhere around the early summer of '07 when I was hooked to football (with due respect to cricket, of course). I was pretty impressed watching the English clubs play back then. After seeing Manchester United win the Premier League that season, I committed myself to being a Red Devil for life, promised never to change loyalties, ever, come what may. It was that same season, Wayne, you won your first of those five League medals.

Ten years have passed since, and as you leave this massive club, you have left many fans heartbroken. The spectacular thunderbolts from 30-40 yards, flowing moves, dribbles, overhead kicks, well-struck set pieces, tappings, lobs, assists, winding up with fist pump celebrations, were a treat to watch. Those are never to be seen again as United will never have another Wayne Rooney. Donning the No.10 shirt for the Reds was an achievement in itself, and you have done perfect justice to it. The club has had immense success during your time here. One Champions League, one Europa League, five Premier Leagues, one FA Cup, three Football Leagues, four FA Community Shields and one Club World Cup must be enough to convince those who doubted your ability and competence.

At this parting moment, I would like to admit that you have been a selfless servant of this beautiful game, keeping personal achievements at bay.  You return to where you came from, and this aptly suits the way you celebrated back then.... "Once a blue, always a blue."

My  favourite moments of your career till now???

*Everton days: Ending Arsenal's unbeaten league run at Goodison Park, by blasting one past David Seaman as an excited Clive Tyldesley, ITV commentator, shrieked, "Oh, A brilliant goal! A brilliant goal! Remember the name.... Wayne Rooney!"

And certainly, we do remember the name, Clive.

Post match, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger went on to say: "Losing our record is a big disappointment, but at least we lost to a special goal from a special talent. He is the biggest English talent Ive seen since I took over at Highbury."

*Manchester United days: I can never forget that acrobatic overhead kick against neighbours, Manchester City, and then being embraced by Luis Nani. The evergreen voices of Sky Sports, Martin Tyler and Alan Smith described the moment as follows:

Martin Tyler: "ROONEY! ... it defies description! How about sensational? How about superb?"

Alan Smith: "It is absolutely spectacular. It's one in a million from Wayne Rooney... how about that, to win a derby?! Never will he strike a better ball, and score a better goal, than this..."

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson called Rooney's winner perhaps the best goal he had seen in his 25 years at Old Trafford. "It was stunning. We've had some fantastic goals here but in terms of execution, you'll never see that", the Gaffer remarked.

And I believe, all Manchester United enthusiasts have their own fond memories of Rooney's glory days at United.

Thank you Wayne, for everything. You certainly leave behind a legacy here. Manchester United fans will always be proud of you. What better way to sign things off than this chant:

I saw my mate the other day,
He said to me he saw the white Pele,
So, I asked, who is he?
He goes by the name of Wayne Rooney...

Manas Pratim Kashyap,
A Manchester United fan,
Guwahati, India.

Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag is a popular man on Social Media these days. His funny tweets also known as 'SEHWAGISM' are always trending. His humour can be seen in the commentary box as well. It is located near Kokilamukh of Jorhat, Assam, India and encompasses an area of about 1,360 acres / 550 hectares. Incredible but true, his forest has deers, rabbits, rhinoceros and also TIGERS.
