South Africa has not had a very good time in the last few months. They crashed out of the Champions Trophy in the group stage, and lost the ODI series as well as the T20I series against England by a margin of 2-1. However, the upcoming four-match Test series against England is important but it had been decided earlier that De Villiers would be taking a break.

AB de Villiers will meet with Cricket South Africa in August to chart his future in international cricket. De Villiers said they were going to "make a final decision about what happens for the next few years."

"We will see what works for both parties,We are not going to pick and choose games, but we are going to make a final decision about what happens for the next few years", de Villiers said.
