Breaking!!! Indian Football Team gains 4 places in latest FIFA rankings


India have risen by four spots after their impressive performance during the international break in June when they notched up a 2-0 friendly win over Nepal and a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers group match. In the latest Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) Rankings update, they are ranked 96th which makes them placed 12th in AFC.

India currently have 341 rating points, an increase of 10 from their previous tally. India also profited from Namibia who plummeted an astonishing 62 spots from 94 to be ranked 156. The best they have ever achieved is 94th rank they achieved in 1996.

Superwoman Bembem Devi wins long awaited Arjuna Award

Unknown to many, Oinam Bembem Devi  is a woman Indian Professional footballer , representing India for the past two decades. She finally gets her hand on the prestigious Arjuna Award announced on 18 th August, thus becoming only the second Indian woman footballer to win the award after former National team captain Shanti Mullick in 1983.
